We are looking for people who want to help make Victoria safer, to work in our Forest Fire Management Victoria (FFMVic) crews.
Our field-based Project Firefighters, Rappel Crews and office-based Fire Support Officers work alongside our permanent firefighting staff to help deliver land management activities and respond to bushfires and other emergencies.

Who is Forest Fire Management Victoria?
FFMVic is made up of skilled and experienced staff from Victorian fire and land management agencies.
Our partners under the FFMVic banner include the Department of Energy, Environment and Climate Action (DEECA), Parks Victoria and Melbourne Water.
FFMVic works with emergency sector partners including CFA, Fire Rescue Victoria, SES and Emergency Management Victoria to manage bushfire risk, prepare communities and respond to bushfires and other emergencies.
We lead in the recovery of public land from impacts of fires, floods and other emergencies.
You will recognise our crews in the community by our distinctive green firefighting uniform.
Positions available (generally between November and April) for a period of 22 weeks (minimum) include:
- Project Firefighter (includes positions designated for Aboriginal and/or Torres Strait Islander people)
- Rappel Crew
- Fire Support Officer
