Fire Support Officer
Our Fire Support Officers help with daily preparedness, providing administrative support and assisting in the coordination of fire preparedness, prevention and response activities.
Although the role is primarily office based, Fire Support Officers may also be expected to participate as part of our on-ground firefighting crews.
To be successful in gaining a position, you will be required to meet the following mandatory specific requirements:
- are an Australian citizen, permanent resident or hold a valid visa which allows you to work in Australia
- are 18 years old as of 1 October 2024
- satisfy pre-employment screening and checks
- complete a medical and task-based fitness assessment (completed during the recruitment process). Visit our FFMVic Firefighting and Employment page for more information about medical and fitness requirements.
- have a current manual driver’s licence.
Job-share pilot Job share options are available at Heywood and Horsham. Positions at these locations are available full time or part time. You can apply with a job-share partner or as an individual. You will work 3 weekdays including a full day handover with your job-share partner to provide coverage across the work week and one weekend a month. Each applicant is required to submit a separate application.
